Miami Medical Malpractice Lawyers — the team

We create the strongest future for our clients by securing the best outcomes — no matter the challenge. Founded in 2009, our firm has recovered over $150 million for families harmed by medical negligence in Florida and beyond.

What is Zayed Law Offices?

Zayed Law Offices is a boutique trial firm founded in 2009 by Adam J. Zayed. The Miami Medical Malpractice Lawyers practice represents Florida families in catastrophic medical malpractice, birth injury, and wrongful-death matters. The firm has recovered over $150 million for clients and maintains a 99% success rate on accepted cases — a direct function of a deliberately limited active caseload.

Zayed Law Offices — Florida medical malpractice team

Medical malpractice is a specialty, not a sideline. Florida's Chapter 766 imposes procedural hurdles — pre-suit investigation, corroborating expert affidavits, strict statutes of limitations — that sideline non-specialist firms before the case ever reaches discovery. We are built for these cases: dedicated expert networks, a research library of Florida standard-of-care authorities, and a caseload deliberately limited so every file gets the preparation it needs.

Our recoveries reflect that discipline. $150 million recovered. A 99% success rate on accepted cases. Seven-figure settlements across failure-to-diagnose cancer, surgical-error, bile-duct, wrongful-death, and birth-injury matters. And a standing reputation with Florida defense counsel and insurance carriers that lets us negotiate from strength — because they know we try cases, and they know we're prepared to win there.

Adam J. Zayed is the founder and managing trial attorney of Zayed Law Offices, a nationally-recognized firm representing individuals and families in catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful-death matters.

Mr. Zayed has recovered more than $150 million for injured clients and has represented plaintiffs in billion-dollar mass-tort litigations. He carefully limits his caseload so every case receives the attention, craft, and strategic development needed to fully articulate each client’s losses — building cases brick by brick through statistics, strategy, and behavioral science.

He has established himself as an industry leader in medical malpractice, surgical error, and high-value injury litigation — handling more of these cases by volume than nearly any single lawyer in the United States.

How We Work

Four working principles shape every case — from the first call to the final settlement or verdict. They're how we translate preparation into results.

Case selection — we decline more than we take

Volume-practice firms take most calls. We take the cases where the standard of care was clearly breached, causation can be proven to a medical certainty, and the damages justify the investment. That gatekeeping is what drives the 99% success rate — not luck.

When we decline a case, we say so honestly and try to refer to a colleague firm that might be a better fit. No false hope, no wasted months.

Evidence first — build the case before we file

Every case we accept goes through a full record review and board-certified expert consultation before we serve notice of intent. By the time we formally initiate pre-suit, the theory of liability is already documented, the causation argument is locked, and the damages model is sketched out.

This is the opposite of “file now, figure it out later” — and it's why our cases tend to settle at or near their full valuation when they settle, and tend to hold up at trial when they don't.

Boutique specialists over in-house generalists

We retain independent board-certified specialists in the defendant's exact discipline — pediatric neurologists for cerebral palsy cases, anesthesiologists for anesthesia-error cases, interventional radiologists for delayed-diagnosis cases. Florida's expert-qualification statute (§ 766.102) is strict; our experts meet every element of it and then some.

Clear communication, every phase

Clients get direct attorney access — not a paralegal funnel. Status updates at every phase (intake, expert work-up, pre-suit, discovery, mediation, resolution) so you always know where your case stands. No surprises, no disappearing lawyer between calls.

The Caseload Cap

Roughly the number of active cases we carry at any time.

The rest get an honest decline or a referral to the right firm. That's not a talking point — it's the operating principle behind the 99% success rate. Volume-practice firms can't prepare a case the way Florida's Chapter 766 demands; we won't pretend otherwise.

Philosophy

Why we limit our active caseload.

A medical malpractice case isn't a file — it's a multi-year investigation. Records requests, expert retention, depositions, causation reconstruction, damages modeling, trial prep. Do it well on 30 cases at once and the quality bar collapses. Do it well on 8 and the results are what you see on this page.

Our founder made a deliberate choice early: cap the active caseload, charge full contingency, accept only cases where the standard of care was breached and the damages justify the investment. That's the firm's operating principle, and it's non-negotiable.
